WebThe FCTC firefighter test is a standardized test that tests a candidate’s ability to remember information, understand written information, and solve problems. The test is also designed to gauge a candidate’s mechanical skills. The test includes questions about gears, belt and pulley systems, and levers. WebIt's typically 75/25 between video and mechanical. The math and reading is typically only pass/fail. Don't wait until an opening comes up to take this test—especially if you're actively looking to get hired. Same goes for the FCTC test and biddle (of course, with the biddle you can keep your best time, but some departments host their own biddle). WebCandidates are eligible to add any department jobs to their test results as long as they do so before taking the test. After a candidate tests, the only jobs they are eligible to add are new jobs or departments that have opened since the completion of their test. It costs $12.00 for each job added.
